Summary and Analysis Act II: Scene 2. The King and Queen input with Rosencrantz and Guildenstern and others. King Claudius has summoned Hamlet's school chums to Elsinore to have them spy at the Prince and document back to Claudius, recounting Hamlet's every flow.

Voltemand tells Claudius that the King of Norway has put a forestall to Prince Fortinbras' threats, and Fortinbras has vowed no longer to attack Denmark. Polonius then tells Gertrude and Claudius that he thinks Hamlet's conduct is because of his feelings for Ophelia.
