The Old Pond by Matsuo Bash is an illustration of a haiku.

Explain about the haiku?

A haiku is a three-line poem written in Japanese that has five syllables in the first line, seven in the second, and five in the third. The hokku, the first three lines of a lengthier poem known as a Tanka, is where the haiku got its start.

A quick sense of illumination is produced by contrasting two pictures in a haiku, which focuses on a fleeting instant in time. Yosa Buson's haiku, in which he compares a single candle to the starry wonder of the spring sky, is a wonderful illustration of this. Katsushika Hokusai's painting, "A Poppy Blooms."

He also abandoned the name "hokku" in favour of the term "haiku," which is an acronym for the phrase "haikai no ku," which refers to a stanza of the haikai.
