Sea level is the base level of a stream which flows into the pacific ocean
Mean sea level (MSL, frequently abbreviated as sea level) is the average surface level of one or more of the Earth's coastal bodies of water, which can be used to measure heights like elevation. The global MSL is a type of vertical datum, or standardized geodetic datum, that is used in aviation as the standard sea level at which atmospheric pressure is measured to calibrate altitude and, ultimately, aircraft flight levels.
It is also used as a chart datum in cartography and marine navigation. The midway between a mean low and mean high tide at a certain area is a more typical and simple mean sea-level standard.
