Fusion of helium nuclei to form carbon and oxygen in the core of a star after the start of helium nuclear reactions in its core compared.

The positions of the stars in relation to one another are largely constant. Orion and Taurus are constantly converging. Draco is always near Ursa Minor. When we look at the sky, the stars are a never-ending backdrop painting that barely move in relation to one another.

There are some minute movements as we orbit the sun throughout the year. Stars closer to us move more left and right than stars farther away. It makes sense, even if it only has a small impact. If you keep your eyes fixed out into the distance as you walk down the street, you'll notice that objects farther away move less in relation to you than ones closer to you.
