What is PISA framework?
PISA, a worldwide evaluation of students' abilities and knowledge, is conducted on a population of 15-year-olds. PISA evaluates pupils' performance on "real-life" activities that are thought to be pertinent for successful adult involvement and for lifelong learning. The Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development is responsible for the PISA initiative (OECD). The Educational Research Centre in Ireland oversees the initiative on behalf of the Department of Education.
PISA has been administered every three years since the year 2000. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the eighth PISA cycle, which was originally scheduled for 2021, has been moved up one year to 2022.
