describe how you could use research and the scientific method to test a claim that organic foods are better than natural foods. Use complete sentences, state your hypothesis and explain specifically how you would conduct the research and gather the data that you will use. You do not have to conduct the experiment, only explain what you would do and how you would analyze the results.

Respuesta :

Natural food is not regulated - there is no rule or regulation. Food manufacturers can label any food as "natural".

Orgranic food is regulated by USFDA and must follow rules and regulations during material selection and processing.  It must also passed inspections to maintain its "organic" label.

So the hypothesis is organic foods are better than natural foods. An experiment can be conducted to test this claim. Food ingredients are listed in all food labels. Visit the local supermarket and copy down the ingredients lists of both orgranic and natural foods.

Correlate the ingredients in two separate columns labeled organic and natural. Look them up to see if they are healthy; or man-made/processed.  If there are more healthy ingredients in organic foods, the results support the claim.

The first step in conducting this experiment is to formulate a hypothesis.

Conducting an experiment

The first step in conducting this experiment is to formulate a hypothesis. In this case, the hypothesis may be; "People who eat organic food are healthier than people who eat natural foods".

The next step is to randomly select a group of participants of a certain number and stratified age bracket. One group is fed on organic food and the other is fed on natural foods for a while. The blood pressure, sugar level lipid profile etc of the both groups can be used to determine the suitability of each type of food.
