A friend says temperature increases as altitude increases because you're moving closer to the sun. Is this true? Explain.

I've been kinda stuck on this for a while... Please Help me out! :D

yes its true because the closer you get to the sun the hotter it gets so as you increase altitude as long as the direction is towards the sun its also increasing temperature
