I am writing a short story for a school assignment. It's about a boy traveling through realms and ending up in our realm.
He's supposed to be located in a park, and I'm hoping to let him interact with another person, but to do so he needs to be quite unfamiliar with the area around him.
So, my question is, HOW do I describe a swing without actually using the word 'swing'. How would this character interact it, if he doesn't know what it is?

there something just going back in forth every time its touch.............. hope this help also if you don't mind hit that brainliest button thank you
I guess it would depend on what kind of swing you wanted to describe. Like for an example a chain swing with a plastic seating. "My eyes wondered and stared in shock at my new surroundings. Then my eyes were drawn to the single piece of red material dangling, moving gently as the wind kissed it." He could either be totally astonished by it or totally afraid of it. It's really up to you. I write short stories all the time for my own benifit.
