A prop jet can travel 750 miles in the same length of time that it takes a private plane to travel 300 miles. The speed of the prop jet is 60 miles per hour more than twice the speed of the private plane. What is the speed of the prop jet?

pj = prop jet speed
pp = private plane speed

pj is 2.5 times faster than pp, therefore
A) pj = 2.5*pp
B) pj = 2*pp + 60

Substituting equation A into B
B) 2.5*pp = 2*pp +60
.5 * pp = 60
Private Plane travels at 120 mph
Prop jet = 2.5 * private plane = 300 mph
