The Annapolis Convention, or the Meeting of Commissioners to Remedy Defects of the Federal Government, was a national political convention spanning from September 11 to 14, 1786 at Mann's Tavern in Annapolis, Maryland, where twelve delegates from five states, specifically New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Delaware, and Virginia, got together to talk about and come up with a consensus about reversing the protectionist trade barriers that each state had created.
