Explain why DNA must be replicated before mitosis and the role of helicase in DNA
replication.
I know they need to be replicated as 2 copies of each DNA molecule is needed but why??

Respuesta :

Mitosis produces two daughter cells that are genetically identical to the parent cell-both daughter cells have the same no. and type of chromosomes as the parent cells. So due to replication each cells formed receives exactly the same amount and type of DNA in chromosomes.
The role of helicase is to break the hydrogen bonds between the base pairs of the parent molecule.
I hope you get your answer from it... :)
