"SNCC" played a major role in the sit-ins and freedom rides, a leading role in the 1963 March on Washington, Mississippi freedom summer, and the Mississippi freedom Democratic Party over the years . Hope I helped !

Even though Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee- SNCC- wasn’t started by Dr. King, it used his policy of nonviolence to coordinate students around the south to resist segregation laws. Eventually, though, the group changed a tactics, becoming more confrontational and dropping the “Nonviolent” from their name, replacing it with the word “National.”
