How does the recent use of the filibuster compare to how it was used in the past? How might it be used in the future?

Long time ago, Filibuster happened rarely and was only used for urgent issues, but nowdays they used it for almost all granted bills that cannot be passed.
In the future, it safe to assume the usage of Filibuster will keep increasing
