Since the base of a cone is a circle, we substitute 2πr2πr for pp and πr2πr2 for BB where rr is the radius of the base of the cylinder.

So, the formula for the lateral surface area of a right cone is L.S.A=πrlL.S.A=πrl , where ll is the slant height of the cone.  

To find the surface area of a cone you can use the formula
A = [tex] \pi [/tex]r(r + [tex] \sqrt{h ^{2} }+r ^{2} )[/tex]
