Which of the following points represents the center of a circle whose equation is (x - 3)to the power of 2 + (y - 2)to the power of 2 = 16?

A. (3, 2)
B. (-3, 2)
C. (-3, -2)
D. (3, -2)

Respuesta :

I think this is geometry. So you would have to use the standard equation of a circle.
The standard equation of a circle with center (h,k) and a radius of r is: (x-h)^2 + (y-k)^2 = r^2
With that equation, we know that the center of YOUR equation is (3 , 2).
So now make (x-3) and (y-2) equal to 0.
That would make x=3 and y=2.
Therefore the answer is A.
