just pick a piece of figurative language from the book, explain the meaning and yeah. sorry if this doesn't help!
1. Chapter 5: Figurative language: Simile, Line from the text: "Gradually, like sloshing oil, his thoughts settled back and the panic was gone". Meaning: The description of Brian's thoughts about being rescued as "sloshing oil" is accurate since oil moves slowly, It's difficult for him to push back his fear.

2. Chapter 6: Figurative language: Onomatopoeia. The line from the text: "Then the bird started again, and some kind of buzzing insect, and then a chattering and a cawing, and soon there was the same background of sound". Meaning: All of the sounds are really loud and it's not peaceful.

3. Chapter 5: Figurative Language: onomatopoeia. The line from the text: "Traffic, people talking, sounds all the time- the hum and whine of the city". Meaning: The city is a busy place with a lot of noise. Really loud!
