When something that is unexpected to happen tends to occur in literature, making the dull and story take an interesting turning point is known as irony.
All the living things perceive things through their senses. Therefore, when writing a sensory language, the aim of the writer is to connect the reader to see with a scene, an image, description or action. Hence, the language which connects to the five senses, smell, sound, sight, taste and touch to create a description or image is known as sensory language.
Hence, part of the stanza which depicts ironic sensory image is, The little girl is preparing her appearance carefully for the church, but the church will be bombed.
The above part is ironic because the girl is that the girl is not aware regarding her demise and on the other hand she is getting herself ready for the church which will be destroyed eventually.
