Dysentery is not a disease but a symptom of a potentially deadly illness. Most of the victims live in developing areas with poor sanitation. People suffer from bloody diarrhea, along with fever, intense stomach pain, and rapid weight loss. Its tragic but it can be treated with an oral rehydrating solution. If that doesn't work, doctors recommend you let it run its course and it shouldn't last more than a week. I don't know exactly how deadly it is but possibly not as deadly but although you can suffer from weight loss that's a problem. Hopefully this kind of helps
