A survey of 2,000 doctors showed that an average of 3 out of 5 doctors use brand X aspirin. How many doctors use brand X aspirin? (Hint: Solve for X).

Respuesta :

All you have to do is find 3/5 of 2000.  Divide 2000 by 5 to get 400. Multiply 400 by 3 to get 1200 and 3/5 of 2000.

So 1200 doctors use brand X aspirin.

If 3 out of 5 doctors use brand X aspirin, it means [tex]\frac{3}{5}=0.6[/tex]=60% of doctors use brand X aspirin.

So, what is 60% of 2000?

[tex](0.6)(2000)=1200[/tex]

Hence, 1200 doctors (out of 2000) uses brand X aspirin.

ANSWER: 1200 doctors
