May is where you say like for instance I may clean my room. I am just saying there is a chance I might do it. and shall is justa saying I absolutly going to do it.
May is asking for permission for ewxapmple:  may i go to the bathroom? sShall is for asking questions: shall I read or paint? , giving commands for example: you shall not steal, have something to say for example: they shall win! and it is also referred to the future and here is an a example: In a hour I shall be walking
