In "The Gift of the Magi," how does O. Henry show that Jim is not angry or upset that both his gift to Della and her gift to him are useless?

Jim isn't angry because he knows that he and his wife both gave up their most prized possessions for each other. By doing this, O. Henry shows that the couple truly loves each other.
