Respuesta :
Guerrilla warfare was new to American soldiers, and so the war in Vietnam was different than the war in Korea.
The reason why the Americans were successful in containing communism in Korea but failed in Vietnam was because the Vietnam War involved guerilla warfare.
Why did the U.S. fail in Vietnam?
In Korea, the U.S. was fighting the conventional army of North Korea and China and so knew who their enemies were and where to target them.
In the Vietnam War, they fought the Vietcong which were guerilla fighters. Not knowing much about the enemy put the U.S. at a disadvantage that led to losses.
