The difference between haploid and diploid cells is related to the number of chromosomes that the cell contains.
Haploid:1 copy each chromosome, one sex chromosome, reproductive cells
Diploid:2 copies each chromosome, 2 sex chromosome, not reproductive cells

Meiosis produces 4 genetically different daughter cells.

So, to determine if a daughter cells is diploid or haploid, figure out what process they underwent (mitosis or meiosis) by comparing them to their other "half". If they are identical, you know they're diploid.
