When a person evaluates a text, to determine the author's intention is essential. Figuring out if the author's purpose is to entertain, to inform about a topic, to explain (E.g. the procedure or sequence of a topic) or to persuade the reader on an idea or thought is important to grasp the full meaning of the text.
