The challenges to development in contemporary sub-Saharan Africa include:
• Debt and economic dependence on foreign nations.

• Education gap due to lack of state funded schools.
• Lack of clean drinking water
The main challenge that's facing sub-Saharan African is poverty and corruption. Due to poverty and corruption, there's accumulation of debts.
Furthermore, the countries depend on foreign countries and other world organizations to help them out. There's also lack of good infrastructural facilities such as good educational institutions, roads, electricity etc.
Lastly, there is concern for public health such as HIV/AIDS, Ebola etc. These counties have a poor medical facilities and these has a negative effect in the health of the population.
