King Creon sentences Antigone to death. He has forbidden the people to entomb or mourn Polyneices, who was left unburied and unwept as feed for the birds. Polyneices was Antigone's brother. She wanted to bury him and was sentenced to death by King Creon. She thinks that family bonds are more important than civil law.
