DDT is a harmful toxic because it cannot be easily decomposed by the enzymes in living things. Thus, it will pass on to all the living things that live and consume in the marsh. Biomagnification is the concentration of toxins on the organism that came from the food it consumes. The last organism of the ecological chain would be the one more concentrated with DDT. Thus, it will be evident with the ring billed gull.
