The area of a rectangular wall of a barn is 55 square feet. Its length is 66 feet longer than the width. Find the length and width of the wall of the barn.

area = 55 feet

 area of rectangle = L x w

l = w+6

55 = w x w+6

55=w^2 + 6w

w^2 +6w -55=0

(w-5) (w+11)

width = 5 feet

length = 5+6 = 11 feet
