Cation and anion of CuCl2

The positively charged ions are known as cations and negatively charged ions are anions.
Cations are attracted to the cathode and anions are attracted to the anodes in the voltaic cell.
When CuCl² copper chloride solution is dissociates into water cation and anion, Cu²⁺ (copper II) is a cation and Cl⁻ (chloride ion) is an anion
