Froggy loves to sit on lily pads and sun himself. When froggy came to the pond there was only one lily pad. The number of lily pads doubled each day. After 40 days, the lily pads completely covered the surface of the pond. How long did it take the pond to be half covered?

39 days. because if it doubles every day then it would double from 39 to 40 so at 39 days the pond is halfway covered and at 40 days it is fully covered
