The rise of totalitarian regimes in countries such as Germany,Italy and Spain were largely in result of great poverty and economic and social dismay.
As such in Germany,Hitler was able to come to power after WW1 because of the harsh terms of the treaty of Versailles which left the German people poor,starving,and jobless. Also fascism rose to power in Europe because of the frightening and dehumanizing aspect of industrialization and since fascism mixed modern society with moral order centered family values it calmed and pleased populaces
