Crusade,Pope Urban II was a French pope who initiated the first crusade and was pope for ten years until his death.Saladin. was the first sultan of Egypt a d Syria and led the Muslims opposition to the crusades in the Levant region.King Richard the lion hearted was a central commander in the third crusade and led considerable victories against Saladin,but was unable to rateke Jerusalem from the sultan.

Pope Urban II, Saladin, and King Richard the Lionheart were all leaders that were associated with the crusades (2). All of them were playing major and important roles in the Crusades which eventually brought them glory and fame through time.
