b. He lost a gun duel to Aaron Burr.  The two men had been political enemies and finally Burr challenged Hamilton to the duel.  Aaron was not harmed, but Hamilton was hit by a bullet from Burr's gun and died of his injuries the following day.  Burr was arrested and charged with murder.
