To calculate the the gravitational potential energy for an object, we use the equation: PE = mgh
In this equation, PE is potential energy, m is the mass of the object, g is the acceleration due to gravity, and h is the height.
Since different planets have different values for g, the potential energy for identical objects at the same height could be different, because the value of g is different for different planets.
