Question 3 / 3

Question: Two kids are liars, three can only say the truth. Jane: " Julia is only a liar, if John is telling the truth." Julia: "If Joey doesn’t lie, then either Jane or John do." Joey: " Jack lies, as does Jane or Julia." John: "If Julia is telling the truth, then Jane or Joey do as well." Jack: "If you round up Jane, Joey and John, you will have at least one liar." The compulsive liars are_____

Respuesta :

All of them? Thats what I would put

Julia and Jack.

Further Explanation:

The above statement says that jack lies on absolute most of the instances and when he says “if you round up Jane, Joey, and John, one among them is a liar. That means that none of them is a liar and it is this statement itself clarifies that Julia and Jack are the compulsive liars because, after this statement by Jack, only these two are left.

The second reason behind strongly believing Jack and Julia to be compulsive liars was that I started looking at the statement from Joe’s perspective who was the first one to say that ‘Jack is a liar’ and Jack also said that Jane and John were not liars and if we believe both the statements from Jack and Joe then Jack is a compulsive liar and no one said that Julia is not a liar so that means she is the second compulsive liar.
