Reactivity is the chemical property of a substance which describes its personal chemical reactions and also its interaction with other substances. Substances react when they are placed under conditions such as temperature, pressure, presence of catalysts and in combination with various substances.

A chemical change is a process in which one or more substances are changed into one or more new and different substances. In a chemical change there is a new arrangement of atoms, the energy of the system is altered and the change cannot be reversed. A chemical change that absorbs heat is an endothermic reaction while the one that releases heat is an exothermic reaction.
