In the year 1917 the women of New York got the full suffrage
or right to vote in state elections. This right to vote for women did not come
in one day. It required 50 years of struggle, raising of funds and marching on
the streets. This was a victory for them morally. The men of that time felt
that this right to vote will make the women neglect their home and daily
chores, but this did not stop the women from getting their right to vote in
state elections.
