Saladin and Richard were
both warriors of the third Crusade. Their goals were to restore and redeem
Jerusalem from the Muslims. They were also known as chivalrous warriors.
Richard killed many Muslims prisoners at Acre while Saladin killed mostly
the Templars and the Hospitallers. Richard’s goal was first to capture the
port of Jaffa in order to capture Jerusalem. While Saladin’s goal is to prevent
the recapture of Jerusalem, so he prepared his army to stop any crusaders
that attempted to capture Jerusalem.
