Acid rain is the Northern Hemisphere eastern United States. This is because this area is characterized by large, densely populated cities and a concentrated number of industrial and power plants in an area. Also, prevailing wind direction is a cause as it brings with it pollution and storms from the Midwest to the north east. All these actions produce gases that when mixed with moisture in the air produce acidic rain.
