The Congress of Vienna was held following the fall of Napoleon with monarchs from around Europe. It was led by Austria with the goal of saving monarchies and preventing another revolution like in France.

The result of the Congress of Vienna was an agreement among European monarchs to protect one another if a revolution occurred in their country. The leaders agreed to return all borders back to the original state before the conquest of Napoleon. This meeting began a policy of creating alliances and protecting against liberal ideas and the disruption of traditional governments.

As a result of Congress of Vienna, French returned to territories which were gained by Napoleon during the period of 1795 to1810.

Congress of Vienna was the part of International Congress whose work was to restore peace and restructure Europe. Europe was in a mess after almost two centuries of War and attempts named by Napoleon to conquer Europe on numerous of Occasions. Napoleon's Abdication in year 1814 and which was followed by a settlement which was preliminary out of those settlements was the treaty of Paris by which Bourbon Monarchy was restored.  

It returned most of the colonies to France. Not only this, It also gave green signal to the countries like Belgium and Holland to become Union. The relations in regards to settlement of France were made harder as France only got boundaries which were there during period of 1790. Insisting on an indemnity and occupation which was related to army. France was returned the territories which Napoleon gained from them during the war.
