Trigeminal neuralgia(Tic douloureux) is a severe, stabbing pain in one side of the face. It affects the trigeminal nerve and his branches, which supply sensation to the face, by compressing the nerve. A light touch on the place affected will trigger the pain. The pain usually goes away after a few minutes.
