because you are constantly moving and running around actively (squatting, jumping, etc) your muscles build endurance and are able to perform for longer periods of times. as for muscular strength, that talks about how well or with how much strength you exert in a single effort, such as jumping to make a shot or anything else that you do once. hope this helps
While playing basketball you exercise your leg muscles a lot so you build a lot of leg muscle. Basketball also exercises your arm muscles so you build arm muscle. In Basketball, you get injured and you have to fight through it to keep playing and not disappoint your team. You become stronger both mentally and physically.
