Emily is making a punch that contains 75% apple juice and the rest ginger ale. The punch has 2 liters of ginger ale. Part A: Write an equation using one variable that can be used to find the total number of liters of apple juice and ginger ale in the punch. Define the variable used in the equation. (5 points) Part B: How many liters of apple juice are present in the punch? Show your work. (5 points)

Respuesta :

A. X is the liters of apple juice in the punch, y is the total amount of punch.
B. There are 6 liters of apple juice present in the punch

75/100=x/y

Y= 25/100=2/y

I thought of it kind of like a proportion. After solving for y you would plug in whatever result you got for y, which in this case is 8.

So it would be 75/100=x/8
Solve that and you get 6 liters of apple juice

Together it’s 75/100=x/(25/100=2/y)
