CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation) is a technique that’s useful to save lives that are in emergencies. The emergence varies, including heart attack and a near-drowning situation when someone has stopped breathing. American Heart Association recommends that people have to begin CPR with chest compressions.

When you’re in a situation when you need to give CPR but you are not sure because you do not have sufficient to do a CPR, just do it. Do the CPR even though you’re not quite sure how to do it. In a life and death situation, it’s better to give people CPR than to do nothing at all. This is a person’s life who is at stake here.

There are 3 kinds of people who can give CPR:

1. Untrained

If you are untrained, you can provide hands-only CPR. You can give chest compressions until the paramedics arrive.

2. Trained

If you ever had a proper education in CPR, then be confident in your skills. First, go check the pulse and figure out if he/she is still breathing. Then give the person chest compressions (minimum 30), and then give two rescue breaths.

3. Trained but rusty

If you have joined CPR training but have forgotten the details, then just do the chest compression.
