The Autonomic nervous system is also known as the Sympathetic and Para sympathetic nervous system. The Sympathetic nervous system (SNS) is best known for its stimulation of the body’s fight-or-flight (emergency) response, maintaining the body's homeostasis balance like sweating to disspation of heat. It is related more with activities that requires mental or physical alertness such as work and exercise. Conversely, the parasympathetic nervous system is responsible for "rest and recovery" or relaxation responses like sleeping, eating and watching TV.
