The lod mosaic is a very old mosaic found in excellent condition in Israel. We know it depicts animals and ships, no humans, we know it's from around 300 BC but we don't know exactly. We don't know it's exact age, we don't know why it was made. We don't know why it only contains images and not words. We don't know if it was made for a private residence or public area. We don't know why it doesn't include any humans despite having a human made ship depicted. All we know is that it's very old, from roman times and very well preserved.
