  I need help to answer this question. Please, someone help.
A line P passes through (-2,7) and (-4, -3). Find the equation of a line perpendicular to this that passes through (6,8).

[tex] \frac{y-y}{x-x} [/tex]=gradient
[tex] \frac{7+3}{-2+4} = 5 [/tex]
Perpendicular gradient therefore is [tex] \frac{-1}{5} [/tex]

With this info, y-y1=m(x-x1)
5(y-8)=-1(x-6)
5y-40=-x+6
5y=-x+46
[tex]y= \frac{-x}{5} + 9.2[/tex]
