Primarily, it helps to ensure you and the client are on the same page and/or have the same understanding of goals and objectives that need to be met. Furthermore, reiterating the points of the conversation will make the client feel valued in that he/she is being listened to and their ideas and/or points are being acknowledged. Additionally, it also gives you the opportunity to share your strategies and be sure that the client agrees on the direction you are thinking of going. If not, then it is better to schedule another meeting to strategize new a direction or project plans. The ultimate aim is to do an excellent job as envisioned by the client and to keep them happy and satisfied.
