Light energy. Light is an electromagnetic energy that comes from the sun. Even though the light the reaches the earth is not that much compared to what the sun can give, it's just enough for plants to undergo photosynthesis. Also, plants do not absorb all light from the surface of the earth; they only absorb red and blue wavelengths.
