[tex] \frac{6x1}{3} [/tex] is the same thing as 2, so that expression is less than 6. 6 is being divided by a number greater than 1 so of course it's going to be less than 6
[tex] \frac{1}{4} [/tex] and [tex] \frac{2}{8} [/tex] are the same thing. If you simplify [tex] \frac{2}{8} [/tex] you get [tex] \frac{1}{4} [/tex]
